HOSEPIPE BAN
Anglian Water have confirmed that Anglian Water have announced that Cricket Clubs can be exempt during the hosepipe ban, and have issued the below statement-
“General sports playing areas are not exempt, however where Health & Safety issues are identified the playing area in question can be watered, best practice should be adopted to minimise watering. Examples of where Health & Safety issues may exist are Cricket, Football and Rugby”
Please note that the water levels are still low and so we as a sport do need to be aware of this and not go over the top and be sensible with our watering of our grounds.
At present, Veolia Water have NOT issued an exemption and therefore if you are supplied by this company, then you WILL NOT be able to water your pitch with a hosepipe. Other methods are allowed such as watering cans and buckets

Awards
The CCB and the CCBGA are running awards to recognise and reward Groundsman at all levels within CCA cricket. These are not related to the ground award presented by the CCA at their AGM and are sponsored by the CCBGA. Clubs are asked to nominate groundsman or grounds in their category for the awards. The CCBGA panel will then select winners in each category – who will then be put forward to an over-all Ground of the Year Award. All winners will be invited to receive their award at the County Board Presentation Evening in November where the over-all winner will be announced.
The categories for nominations are below:
