He walked  over 150 miles in 10 days and had supporters joining him walking the final five miles around a beautiful National Trust Park.
Beefy is a true Sporting Legend with his most famous victory on a cricket field was for England when they beat Australia in the Headingley Ashes Test Match in 1981.
Since his first walk in 1985 "Beefy" has raised over £13 million that has been invested in life-saving research. He is no less a legend in the fundraising arena.

Les Mills said" It was a cool and at times damp afternoon but great to see so many people turn up and walk with a true sporting legend. It was great way to help raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma research to beat blood cancer.Through everyones generosity I raised over £1,000."

HOSEPIPE BAN

Anglian Water have confirmed that Anglian Water have announced that Cricket Clubs can be exempt during the hosepipe ban, and have issued the below statement-

“General sports playing areas are not exempt, however where Health & Safety issues are identified the playing area in question can be watered, best practice should be adopted to minimise watering.  Examples of where Health & Safety issues may exist are Cricket, Football and Rugby”

Please note that the water levels are still low and so we as a sport do need to be aware of this and not go over the top and be sensible with our watering of our grounds.

At present, Veolia Water have NOT issued an exemption and therefore if you are supplied by this company, then you WILL NOT be able to water your pitch with a hosepipe. Other methods are allowed such as watering cans and buckets

The Cambs & Hunts Grounds Assoc can help if you need advice. Please click HERE for an advice document that will offer some advice on how to look after your pitch with limited water

CONGRATULATIONS.....to Linton Village College and The Perse Girls School who will be representing Cambridgeshire in the regional finals of the Lady Taverners Cricket Competition at U15 & U13 respectively.
